Pranayama in the Morning: A Five-Day Class for Six Months’ Practice

Pranayama, the study of the life force through the breath, is best learned in intimate settings under the hands-on guidance of an experienced teacher. The benefits of right practice include self-knowledge, the regulation of effort, physiological resilience, and vitality. This 5-day workshop is offered twice a year early in the day when distractions are reduced, to set the stage for home practice. BKS Iyengar suggested the format and content of this program for practitioners in our community.

Prerequisites: Six months of Iyengar yoga asana practice guided by weekly study with an Iyengar-certified teacher, or permission from the instructor. Current home practice of Iyengar yoga, including inversions. Please arrive by 6:45 to allow 10 minutes of Savasana before class begins.

Class size will be limited to 12 people.

Full Week Early Bird until September 1st: $75
After September 1st $105
Drop-in $22 (permission from the instructor required)
