Love: The Open Door to Big Mind
December 10, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Our ability to relate is often hindered by well-defended attachment to our personality, habits, and preconceptions, which Suzuki Roshi called small mind. In our relationships with ourselves and others, how do we find and open the door from small mind to Big Mind, that is, our Buddha Mind? How do we align the response of small mind with the light of Big Mind? What views, intentions, supports, and practices help us individually and in our relationships?
In this lecture and workshop, we will explore and develop a sense of how to practice opening this door in ourselves and our relationships by:
Studying and understanding Buddhist teachings on small mind and Big Mind
Learning ways to practice these teachings through contemplation and dialogue
Developing individualized intentions and hypotheses to test in a problematic life or therapeutic issue
